to support the development of critical connectivity services.
Your mission will be
to design, build, and improve scalable network connectivity products
in order to
deliver reliable and high-performance networking capabilities to our cloud customers
.
YOUR FUTURE TEAM

You will be part of a
team of 7 engineers
, distributed across France and working mostly remotely. The team is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining
Scalewayâs connectivity products
, including solutions such as
InterLink, Site-to-Site VPN, and Public Gateway
. These products are critical components of our cloud infrastructure and are continuously evolving.
The team brings together engineers with
junior to senior profiles
, working collaboratively on complex networking and system programming challenges. Developers often collaborate in pairs on key topics, and knowledge sharing is encouraged through open discussions, optional pair programming, and continuous learning initiatives.
You will also work closely with other teams across Scaleway, including
product, documentation, design, frontend, devtools, and support
, ensuring that our products provide the best possible experience for customers.

YOUR DAILY ROUTINE
Develop and maintain backend services for Scalewayâs network connectivity products
Design and implement
gRPC APIs in Rust
for cloud networking services
Work on features related to
InterLink, Site-to-Site VPN, and Public Gateway
Debug complex networking or distributed systems issues
Investigate and resolve
customer-related technical incidents
in collaboration with the support team
Participate in architectural and system design discussions
Contribute to improving the reliability and performance of networking services
Collaborate with teammates and other departments to deliver high-quality products
Participate in team rituals such as roadmap reviews, weekly retrospectives, and technical discussions
Contribute to experimentation, proof-of-concepts, and continuous learning initiatives
Hardskills
ABOUT YOU
Strong experience with
Rust development
Experience designing or developing
gRPC APIs
Solid knowledge of
networking fundamentals
(TCP, IP, UDP, BGP)
Experience working with
PostgreSQL or relational databases
Familiarity with
VPN technologies such as IPSec
Experience with networking tools or stacks such as
FRR, GoBGP, or similar
Experience building or contributing to
network infrastructure products
Softskills
Strong collaboration mindset and team spirit
Curiosity and willingness to explore complex technical topics
Good written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work autonomously and take ownership of tasks
Open-minded attitude and willingness to learn outside your comfort zone
