Role description

About Us
Appnovation is a global, full-service digital partner that combines Strategy, Experience & Design, Engineering and Managed Services. We build digital solutions that deliver real impact today and serve as foundations for future growth. Bold ambition. Practical action. Endless possibilities.

Technology is foundational to all of Appnovation’s offerings, from consulting to digital innovation, to digital product and service creation. The technology department is focused on delivering software solutions that enable rich consumer experiences, from mobile and web applications to advanced analytics and machine learning, to content and engagement management service enablement platforms.

Inherent throughout our tech capabilities is deep expertise in the Software Development Life Cycle, a drive for creativity, a passion for the craft, and collaboration with other disciplines - all foundational ingredients in successful digital experiences and client partnerships.

As a Cloud Solutions Architect, you will join a highly motivated and experienced team and think through scaling our platform from a small pilot to enterprise scale. You will architect for tens of thousands of users on AWS, design the caching, multi-region and federation strategies that keep the platform fast and resilient across geographies, and ensure the architecture meets the security and access-control needs of sensitive content. We are looking for people who can bring a strong, consulting and solution-focused mindset and contribute to architectural decisions, best practices and get things done.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect the platform for enterprise scale (tens of thousands of users) on AWS.
  • Evaluate scalability of the Postgres/Supabase backend; design caching tiers, multi-region, and global federation as needed.
  • Own the load-testing strategy and responsiveness targets across geographies.
  • Ensure the architecture meets security and access-control needs for sensitive content.
  • Produce architecture diagrams, decision records, and technical standards.
  • Guide and mentor engineers on cloud best practices and patterns.
  • Define non-functional requirements (availability, resilience, cost, observability).
  • Partner with security and compliance to meet enterprise controls.
  • Support build-vs-buy decisions and technology evaluations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field; 8+ years in engineering, with 3+ years in architecture.
  • Senior cloud architecture experience on AWS; certification (e.g., Solutions Architect Professional) preferred.
  • Experience designing high-scale, low-latency, multi-region distributed systems.
  • Caching strategies, data federation, and performance/load testing.
  • Security architecture, including role- and attribute-based access control (RBAC/ABAC).
  • Infrastructure-as-code (Terraform/CloudFormation) and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
  • Strong grasp of networking, IAM, cost optimization, and observability tooling.
  • Ability to work within an established enterprise engineering lifecycle and hit the ground running.
  • Excellent stakeholder communication and technical leadership skills.

Who You Are

  • You think about how to scale, automate and operate, not just how to build a solution to an immediate problem
  • You understand lean thinking
  • You set high standards for code quality, performance/scalability and security and seek continuous improvement
  • You have solid analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • You have a customer-first mindset and a devotion to customer service
  • You engage and build positive internal and external client relationships, while managing multiple initiatives, often with competing priorities
  • You have strong self-initiative, passion, interpersonal, oral and written communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work, influence and make an impact in a cross-functional environment with all levels of the organization
  • You are responsive and thrive in a fast-paced, diverse, high-performance environment with rapidly changing business needs
  • You actively seek out things outside your comfort zone with the ability to rapidly learn and take advantage of new concepts, business models, and technologies
  • You have prior experience in consulting
  • Prior experience and connections in the Life Sciences industry is preferred

Thank you for your interest in a career with Appnovation Technologies! Please note that only those selected for an interview will be contacted.

At Appnovation, we recognize that diverse teams are the strongest teams. Diversity, Equity & Inclusion is not only something that we embrace - we celebrate it! We are proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer and we encourage applicants from all backgrounds, lived experiences and industries to apply. Come join us at Appnovation, and learn more about how we stay true to our company values as we build better lives through better digital.
Accommodations are available upon request throughout the recruitment process.

Role description

Senior Domain Architect – EY Fabric AI, Post-Sales
Position Summary
You are a strategic Architect within the EY Fabric post-sales organization, accountable for defining repeatable AI and GenAI architecture patterns that enable EY Fabric adoption at scale. Your role is to ensure AI Factory, OpenAI-related capabilities, GenAI integrations, model orchestration, evaluation, monitoring, and operational controls are delivered through reusable, governed, and easy-to-consume patterns rather than bespoke implementations.

This role is focused on post-sales adoption, architectural integrity, and repeatability. You will create the reference architectures, accelerators, guardrails, and implementation blueprints that help Forward Deployed Engineers and delivery teams implement AI solutions consistently while managing risk, cost, security, and operational readiness.

Essential Functions Of The Job

  • Define EY Fabric AI reference architectures covering AI Factory, OpenAI integrations, GenAI workloads, model orchestration, agentic patterns, retrieval-based approaches, deployment, evaluation, monitoring, and lifecycle management
  • Create repeatable AI design patterns for common post-sales scenarios such as GenAI application onboarding, secure model access, prompt orchestration, RAG-style solution patterns, evaluation workflows, telemetry, and operational controls
  • Develop AI accelerators including architecture blueprints, starter kits, integration templates, deployment patterns, evaluation frameworks, monitoring patterns, reusable prompts, configuration guidance, and handoff packs
  • Ensure AI accelerators are easy to consume by Forward Deployed Engineers, delivery teams, and segment-aligned teams
  • Define guardrails for responsible AI delivery, including access controls, data boundaries, auditability, monitoring, human oversight, and operational risk management
  • Partner with AI Product, Engineering, Security, Risk, and Reliability teams to align post-sales patterns with platform roadmap and governance expectations
  • Act as the senior escalation point for complex AI architecture questions that go beyond standard implementation playbooks
  • Convert recurring AI implementation challenges into reusable patterns, playbooks, and accelerators
  • Define clear handoff expectations between Presales, Domain Architecture, Forward Deployed Engineering, and ongoing support teams
  • Govern exceptions to standard AI patterns and determine whether new supported patterns are required
  • Maintain AI architecture assets in agreed EY Fabric knowledge repositories such as GitHub, SharePoint, Teams, and internal knowledge hubs
  • Measure AI architecture effectiveness through pattern adoption, reduction in bespoke builds, implementation speed, operational quality, and reuse of accelerators
  • Mentor mid-level AI Architects and help build post-sales AI architecture maturity across EY Fabric

Analytical And Decision-Making Responsibilities

  • Evaluate AI solution designs for scalability, security, privacy, cost, reliability, observability, and operational readiness
  • Decide when an AI use case should follow an existing standard pattern versus requiring a new architecture pattern
  • Prioritize AI accelerator development based on recurring demand, risk profile, delivery complexity, and adoption impact
  • Identify common sources of AI delivery friction and drive platform-level or pattern-level improvements
  • Assess whether AI implementations are aligned to EY Fabric guardrails and responsible AI expectations

Knowledge And Skills Required

  • Strong experience designing and governing production AI, ML, or GenAI systems
  • Familiarity with AI Factory concepts, OpenAI-style integrations, model orchestration, RAG patterns, evaluation, monitoring, and lifecycle management
  • Strong cloud architecture fundamentals including identity, networking, security, logging, and observability
  • Understanding of responsible AI, data governance, security, risk, and operational controls
  • Experience creating reusable AI architecture assets, templates, implementation guides, or accelerators
  • Ability to communicate AI architecture decisions, tradeoffs, and risks to technical and executive stakeholders
  • Strong ability to work across Product, Engineering, Security, Risk, Growth, and delivery teams

Supervision Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership to AI Architects and senior engineers
  • Review AI patterns, accelerators, and handoff artifacts for quality and consistency
  • Coach teams on using approved EY Fabric AI patterns instead of bespoke implementations

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of engineering with recent GenAI architecture experience, including significant AI, ML, GenAI, or platform delivery experience
  • Experience building reusable AI patterns, accelerators, technical standards, or implementation playbooks
  • AI, cloud architecture, security, or data certifications preferred

  • Lead and mentor regional and domain Integration Architects, setting technical direction and raising overall architecture maturity.
  • Provide architectural oversight of SI partners and vendors, ensuring adherence to enterprise standards.
  • Influence senior stakeholders by clearly articulating trade‑offs, risks, and long‑term impacts of integration decisions.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 15 years of relevant experience
  • Deep hands‑on experience integrating SAP S/4HANA, SAP Ariba, and SAP SuccessFactors in large global landscapes.

  • Experience with hybrid integration scenarios (SAP cloud, hyperscalers, on‑prem systems).
  • Ability to translate business requirements into clear, durable integration architectures rather than one‑off solutions.

Leadership & Enterprise Skills

  • Demonstrated ability to act as a global design authority, influencing without direct control.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills across IT, business, and external partners.
  • Experience working in large, matrixed, global organizations with multiple delivery teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in global SAP transformation programs (S/4HANA, RISE, Ariba, SuccessFactors).
  • TOGAF or equivalent enterprise architecture certification.
  • Exposure to AI‑assisted delivery, automation, or integration governance at scale.
