Role description

We’re a team of experts pushing the limits of what’s possible, united by our common goal to unlock true freedom through digital ownership, making technology accessible for all. We believe in a world where users, creators and enterprises manage their value with ownership and freedom. Our curiosity drives us to innovate, empowering individuals on a global scale. We believe change is constant and our team moves forward as one, with a culture of problem-solving where every employee is empowered and supported to challenge tradition and create solutions. Our mission is simple: to make self-custody accessible and give people the keys to their own financial futures. If you want to make a true impact, we want you to join us at Ledger.

At Ledger, we’re proud to be the global platform for digital assets and Web3, with over 20% of the world’s crypto assets secured through our Ledger devices. With our headquarters in Paris, and offices in Vierzon, Grenoble, Montpellier, London, Portland, Geneva, Zurich and Central Singapore, we have a team of around 600 professionals developing a variety of products and services to enable individuals and companies to securely buy, store, swap, grow and manage crypto assets – including the Ledger hardware wallets line with more than 7.5 millions units already sold in 200 countries.

The Team
You’ll join the Security Operations team, responsible for protecting Ledger’s corporate, cloud, SaaS, and data center environments. Its mission: to anticipate, detect, investigate, and respond to cyber threats—including monitoring, alert triage, incident response, detection, visibility, automation, exposure tracking, and continuous process improvement. The scope is distinct from that of the Donjon (product security): SecOps covers the operational security of internal environments, the cloud, endpoints, workloads, identities, and infrastructure.

As a close-knit and experienced team—technically demanding and committed to knowledge sharing—we’re also continuously building the SOC itself: integrating new log sources, ensuring data quality, expanding detection coverage, and developing reliable dashboards and operational workflows.

Our Technical Stack Includes

  • Splunk for SIEM, investigations, and dashboards;
  • CrowdStrike for EDR and endpoint/workload security;
  • Wiz for cloud security and exposure management;
  • Torq for SOAR and automation;
  • AWS, including modern environments such as EKS/Kubernetes;
  • An in-house developed Agentic SOC for alert enrichment, correlation, investigation support, reporting, and automation.

AI is at the heart of how we work: investing in AI applied to security is a strategic priority for Ledger this year. We’ve built our own in-house Agentic SOC, which autonomously investigates weak signals—the large volume of unreliable alerts that a human team couldn’t sort through manually—and enriches them, so our engineers can focus on what matters most and resolve incidents faster: high-quality detection, noise reduction, and accelerated investigations.

What You’ll Be Doing
As a
Staff Security Operations Engineer
, you are the SecOps team’s top technical expert and our go-to authority on incident management. You lead the response to the most critical and complex incidents (CSIRT), spearhead proactive threat hunting, and define the detection and response strategy that the entire team relies on. Beyond day-to-day operations, you shape the architecture of our detection pipeline, SIEM, and automation—including the management of our internal Agentic SOC—and you establish the standards, playbooks, and methodologies that raise the technical bar for the entire team. Above all, you’re a builder: beyond design, you’ll build and actively evolve our systems—the Agentic SOC, the log pipeline, and automation—with a solid understanding of the underlying infrastructure. This is an expert role (individual contributor): your impact stems from your expertise, your judgment under pressure, and your influence.

Critical Incident Response (CSIRT)

  • Serve as the primary point of contact and coordinator for the most complex incidents across the cloud, corporate systems, endpoints, identities, and the data center.
  • Conduct end-to-end investigations: root cause analysis, forensics, timeline reconstruction, and remediation recommendations to prevent recurrence.
  • Serve as the team’s go-to expert in incident management, ensuring a rigorous and consistent approach to handling, escalating, and documenting incidents.

Detection Strategy & Threat Hunting

  • Define the team’s detection strategy, architecture, and methodology.
  • Lead proactive threat hunting by leveraging CTI and OSINT to identify and neutralize risks before they impact Ledger.
  • Address the most challenging and emerging detection issues, and translate threat intelligence into concrete improvements in security posture.

Architecture & Agentic SOC

  • Design and optimize the SIEM (Splunk) architecture and SOAR (Torq) workflows that underpin effective detection, triage, and response.
  • Bring our Splunk environment up to standard and state-of-the-art: data quality and standardization (CIM), data models, search performance, and detection governance.
  • Build, evolve, and own the architecture of our internal Agentic SOC and our log/data pipeline, and lead the automation of reporting for the SecOps team.
  • Apply deep expertise in cloud security (AWS, EKS/Kubernetes) and Wiz (CSPM/CNAPP) to harden the cloud and prioritize large-scale exposure.

Technical Leadership & Mentoring

  • Establish the standards, playbooks, and runbooks that the team relies on.
  • Mentor and foster the technical growth of senior and junior engineers, and act as a force multiplier within SecOps.
  • Work with the Engineering, Infrastructure, IT, and Cloud teams to align operational security with the organization’s objectives.

What We’re Looking For

  • 9+ years of experience in security operations, incident response, and CSIRT.
  • A strong track record as a technical expert in incident management, threat hunting, and detection engineering.
  • Comfortable working both as an individual contributor and as a team player in a fast-paced cloud and SaaS environment.
  • In-depth expertise in SIEM (ideally Splunk) and SOAR platforms, as well as CTI/OSINT methodologies.
  • Solid knowledge of AWS security (IAM, audit logs, network configurations, workloads, containers, Kubernetes) and cloud security tools (ideally Wiz, CSPM/CNAPP); experience with an EDR (ideally CrowdStrike).
  • Strong incident response and forensics skills, with the ability to conduct complex end-to-end investigations.
  • The ability to automate tasks and reporting using Python, Bash, APIs, GitHub Actions, a SOAR platform, or equivalent.
  • A solid understanding of infrastructure (cloud, networking, containers, CI/CD) and the ability to build and scale: log/data pipelines, integrations, and internal services.
  • A strong interest—or experience—in AI applied to security operations, agent-based workflows, and SOC automation.
  • Rigor and discipline: You follow and improve established processes and ensure consistency in incident handling and reporting; excellent analytical skills, even under pressure.
  • Clear communication of complex technical concepts to cross-functional teams; ability to document thoroughly and escalate issues with the appropriate level of context; awareness of confidentiality and the proper handling of sensitive information.

Head of Infrastructure

Diabolocom

Parislead

Apply on the employer's site

Role description

Build the infrastructure behind the next generation of AI-powered customer communications

Diabolocom is building an AI-first communication platform where AI agents, human agents, business workflows and communication channels work together seamlessly.

As we enter our next phase of growth, we are looking for a
Head of Infrastructure
to own and scale the infrastructure foundation behind this platform.

This is a unique opportunity to lead an infrastructure organization combining
carrier-grade voice systems, on-premise data centers, distributed systems and AI workloads
, while building the operational maturity required to support
2x growth
.

You will report directly to
Sergei, our CTO,
and lead the infrastructure organization — owning operational excellence, team development and execution of infrastructure initiatives, while actively contributing to technical strategy and architecture decisions.

Why this role is different

Most infrastructure leadership roles today focus on managing cloud platforms and abstracted services. Here, you will own the foundations of a real-time, AI-first communication platform — from hardware and networks to telecom systems, distributed services, and operational processes.

Our philosophy is simple: we build and operate our infrastructure ourselves. 100% of our production infrastructure is managed by our teams, giving us full technical ownership, deep system knowledge, and the ability to solve complex challenges without relying on external vendors. This allows us to move faster, make better architectural decisions, and build systems tailored to our needs.

You will work across:

  • Telecom infrastructure
    — we are a global voice carrier powering real-time communications across multiple markets. We manage carrier relationships, routing decisions, and voice traffic flows end-to-end, with the expertise and tooling built internally.

  • On-premise infrastructure
    — around 95% of our production infrastructure runs on our own hardware across several data centers around the Paris and Frankfurt areas, with servers, networking, and connectivity fully managed by our teams.

  • Cloud infrastructure
    — while the majority of our production runs on-premise, we strategically leverage cloud services for remote locations and specific workloads where they provide faster deployment and operational efficiency, particularly for smaller-scale deployments.

  • Stateful systems
    — PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, Kafka, RabbitMQ, Redis, and others powering high-volume workloads.

  • Distributed systems
    — the platform is deployed in a fully redundant way across multiple data centers, with the ability to sustain the loss of a data center without impacting workloads.

  • AI infrastructure
    — GPU workloads and compute infrastructure supporting our AI capabilities.

  • Storage system
    — Ceph provides our main object and volume storage layer, supporting all other services across the infrastructure.

This is infrastructure engineering where reliability, latency, scalability, and operational excellence directly impact the product.

You will not simply maintain existing systems. You will help shape the architecture, processes, and team structure required for the next stage of our growth — taking ownership of critical infrastructure decisions from the ground up.

Your mission

Your goal is to make infrastructure ready for the next stage of scaling up by building a strong operational foundation across all the infrastructure domains.

You will:

  • Own infrastructure reliability and operations across the whole stack: incident management, monitoring, alerting, post-mortems and prevention of recurring failures.

  • Improve operational visibility across infrastructure teams: identify bottlenecks, improve processes and drive continuous improvements.

  • Improve capacity planning processes, connecting business growth and infrastructure needs.

  • Lead the evolution of our
    network and telecom infrastructure
    : topology, connectivity, carrier relationships, routing, redundancy and voice platform performance and reliability.

  • Own our
    on-premise infrastructure operations
    : data centers, hardware, storage, connectivity and deployment practices.

  • Drive scalability and reliability of our
    stateful infrastructure
    : PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, Kafka, RabbitMQ, Redis and other critical systems.

  • Support the evolution of our
    AI infrastructure
    , including GPU workloads and compute clusters.

  • Drive infrastructure improvements with automation, observability and tooling.

  • Partner with engineering teams to ensure applications run reliably on our platforms.

  • Lead and grow the Infrastructure team across Networking, SRE, Stateful Systems, Voice, and Data Center squads.

Who we are looking for

We are not looking for someone who has mastered every infrastructure domain.

We are looking for a strong infrastructure engineer and leader who has built complex systems, understands operational excellence and wants broader ownership.

You might be:

  • a
    Head of Infrastructure
    looking for a more hands-on technical challenge;

  • an
    Infrastructure Manager
    who still enjoys engineering;

  • a
    Staff/Principal SRE
    who has been leading infrastructure beyond their formal title;

  • a
    network or systems engineer
    who grew into technical leadership.

Must Have

  • Deep expertise in at least 2-3 infrastructure domains, such as:

    • networking;

    • SRE/reliability;

    • database administration;

    • telecom/voice infrastructure;

    • hardware/on-premise infrastructure.

  • Proven experience building and improving infrastructure operations: establishing processes, improving reliability practices, driving incident management and creating effective ways of working across multiple infrastructure domains.

  • Experience leading technical teams where different groups own different areas of infrastructure (for example networking, SRE, databases, systems or platform engineering).

  • Strong hands-on mindset: you stay close to technology, understand technical details and lead through context and expertise.

  • Self-taught, hands-on background — you have grown technically by solving complex problems beyond your formal role.

  • Fluent English, both written and spoken. French or other languages are a plus.

  • Ability to work onsite in Paris.

Nice to Have

Experience with:

  • Telecom or carrier infrastructure.

  • Voice platforms or real-time communication systems.

  • PostgreSQL, Kafka, RabbitMQ or Redis operational experience at scale.

  • Dark fiber, peering and advanced networking.

  • Kubernetes in production.

  • GPU infrastructure.

  • Incident command and post-mortem culture.

About You

You are motivated by complexity and ownership, not titles.

You solve problems before being asked.

You are comfortable with ambiguity — infrastructure is complex, and you know how to make pragmatic technical trade-offs.

You enjoy building teams and scaling impact through people, not only systems.

You stay curious about networking, hardware trends, observability and modern infrastructure practices.

Why join us

Own infrastructure decisions with real business impact.

Your work will directly influence reliability, customer experience and engineering velocity.

Work on infrastructure that cannot simply be outsourced.

From telecom networks and hardware to distributed systems and AI workloads, you will solve problems where architecture and engineering decisions matter.

Build something from an early stage of maturity.

You will help establish the operational discipline, processes and team structure needed for the next phase of growth.

Work directly with technical leadership.

You will report directly to Sergey, our CTO, who is deeply involved in infrastructure and technical decisions while giving infrastructure leaders the ownership to drive changes.

Recruitment Process

  1. Intro call with Talent Acquisition
    Up to 1h — alignment on experience, expectations and motivation.

  2. Two technical conversations with Sergey, CTO
    Focused on:

  • infrastructure strategy;

  • technical depth;

  • architecture decisions;

  • operational leadership approach.

  1. Meeting with the infrastructure team
    Onsite or online session focused on collaboration, problem-solving and engineering culture.

  2. Final conversation with CEO

Logistics

📍 Paris, France

🏢 Hybrid model: minimum 3 days/week onsite

💻 Equipment: choose your preferred setup (Mac/Linux + monitors)

🍽 Lunch vouchers

🚇 Navigo: 50% of the monthly pass reimbursed

🏠 Relocation support available

One More Thing

We are not necessarily looking for someone who has already done this exact role in this exact environment.

The strongest candidates are often engineers who grew into leadership by taking ownership, solving complex problems and going beyond their formal responsibilities.

If you have built and operated complex infrastructure, enjoy solving ambiguous technical challenges and want to shape a critical engineering domain —
we would love to talk.

We may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses and identifying potential inconsistencies or verification signals in application materials based on available information. These tools assist our recruitment team but do not replace human judgment. Final hiring decisions are ultimately made by humans. If you would like more information about how your data is processed, please contact us.
