Role description

Ready to accelerate your career?
Clara is the fastest-growing company in Latin America. We've built the leading solution for companies to make and manage all their payments. We already help over 20,000 large and growing businesses operate with agility and financial clarity through locally issued corporate cards, bill pay, financing, and a powerful B2B platform built for scale.

Clara is backed by some of the most successful investors in the world, including top regional VCs like monashees, Kaszek, and Canary, and leading global funds like Notable Capital, Coatue, DST Global Partners, ICONIQ Growth, General Catalyst, Citi Ventures, SV Angel, Citius, Endeavor Catalyst, and Goldman Sachs - in addition to dozens of angel investors and local family offices.

We're building the financial infrastructure that powers high-performing organizations across the region. We invite you to join us if you want to be part of a fast-paced environment that will accelerate your career and support you to do some of the best work of your life alongside a passionate and committed team distributed across the Americas.

What you'll do

AI Enablement is the team that builds the AI infrastructure the rest of Clara's engineering org runs on. We're not a team that "adds AI to a product" — we build the tools other teams build with. Live examples today:
Clara Builders
(an internal skills marketplace and self-service app platform), an agent that turns Figma designs directly into production code through MCP, a documentation agent that keeps internal knowledge in sync with the codebases it describes, and n8n automations already running in production across several business teams.

We're looking for a senior engineer to own the frontend architecture of Clara Builders and go deep on the systems behind it — backend services, agent infrastructure, and the AI tooling other teams across Clara rely on. This is deliberately not a frontend-only role: you'll be expected to move into backend and infra whenever the problem calls for it, and to build AI tooling yourself rather than just apply it to your own tickets.

Concretely, Clara Builders is a Next.js 15 (App Router) + TypeScript app on Prisma/Postgres, with a self-service Dokploy deploy pipeline (staging → beta → production, gated by a pending/approved environment lifecycle) and a Cloudflare AI Gateway layer that proxies multiple LLM providers behind one internal endpoint. You'd be joining while we're actively building the next layer on top of that: OAuth Clients support and unified access proposals, both in progress and largely undocumented today — you'd be shaping them, not inheriting a finished spec.

We move fast and trust our engineers to own outcomes end-to-end. That means autonomy to make decisions, proactivity to surface problems before they become blockers, and the attitude to push initiatives across the finish line without waiting to be told what to do.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Owning frontend architecture for Clara Builders (Next.js 15 App Router, React, TypeScript, Tailwind + shadcn/ui) and the component system that powers skills and app generation
  • Extending the backend in the same repo — Prisma/Postgres data models, auth flows, and the self-service Dokploy deployment pipeline (staging/beta/production with its pending → approved environment lifecycle)
  • Working directly in the AI Gateway layer — the Cloudflare AI Gateway proxy that fronts multiple LLM providers behind one internal endpoint — to add providers, harden routing, or expose new models to builders
  • Building and extending agent infrastructure: the Figma-to-code MCP agent, the documentation-sync agent, and the n8n automation flows already running in production
  • Designing and shipping new AI tooling from scratch — our own roadmap right now includes OAuth Clients and unified access proposals, both undocumented and actively being defined
  • Contributing to the GitHub org access model: self-service OAuth-based org membership with automated drift detection against clara-team
  • Setting the technical bar for frontend and AI-tooling work across the pod — through code review and the standard you hold in your own work

Who you are

  • Solid foundation in modern frontend engineering (React, Next.js App Router, TypeScript, Tailwind/shadcn) — that's the floor of this role, not the ceiling
  • Real evidence of building on top of LLMs, not just using them — agents, MCP servers/integrations, LLM gateway or proxy patterns, automation pipelines (n8n or similar) — not "I use Copilot daily"
  • Comfortable stepping into backend when the problem needs it — Postgres, Prisma (or an equivalent typed ORM), auth flows (OAuth/NextAuth-style), API design
  • High autonomy and ownership mindset — Clara's pod model has no EM assigning tasks; you define your own scope inside the team's goals and drive it
  • Nice to have: experience with design-to-code pipelines, design systems, or building internal developer platforms
  • English proficiency
  • A genuine pull toward AI. You don't need to be an expert, but you're actively experimenting with AI tools in your day-to-day work, keep up with where the space is going, and are eager to apply it to how we build. At Clara, AI is part of how we work, not a side topic

We've kept this list short on purpose — these are the things that actually matter. If you check most of these and the rest you'd close with curiosity and the right tools, we want to hear from you.

Why join Clara
At Clara, you'll have the autonomy, speed, and support to make meaningful impact — not just on your team, but on how organizations are run across Latin America.

Who we are

  • We're the leading B2B fintech for spend management in Latin America.
  • Certified as one of the world's fastest-growing companies, a Great Place to Work, and a LinkedIn Top Startup.
  • Passionate about making Latin America more prosperous and competitive.
  • Constantly innovating to build financial infrastructure that enables each of our customers to thrive.
  • Product-led, high-talent-density culture — designed for builders who raise the bar.
  • Proud of our open, inclusive, and values-driven environment.

  • Annual learning budget and internal accelerated development paths
  • High-ownership environment: we move fast, learn fast, and raise the bar — together
  • Smart, ambitious teammates — low ego, high impact
  • Flexible vacation and hybrid work model focused on results

If you're ready for growth, ownership, and impact — apply now and help us redefine B2B finance in Latin America.

Clara's Hybrid Policy

Claridians in a hybrid mode split their time between working from the office, talking to or visiting customers, or working from home. This hits a balance between bringing people together for in-person collaboration and learning from each other, while supporting flexibility about how to do this in a way that makes sense for each individual and team.

We don't enforce a minimum number of days for most roles, but you're expected to spend time at the office organically, and be at the office most days during your ramp-up or when required by your leader.

Engineering Manager (all genders)

koppla

Remote

Apply on the employer's site

Role description

In a nutshell

koppla is building the
next-gen collaborative scheduling platform for construction
, helping project managers keep projects on time by identifying delays and disruptions before they impact timelines.

We are looking for a people-focussed Engineering Manager to lead and develop our engineering team. We have a team of high-performing, driven and product-minded engineers across all seniority levels who care deeply about what they build and how they grow. Partnering closely with our VP Product and our CEO, your main responsibility will be developing our team (~10 engineers) and ensure we keep shipping a high-quality product. You will not lead our technical decision making, but be a key contributor to it.

Compensation:
€100k-130k + 45% of your base salary in equity on top

Location:
Berlin (Hybrid, 3+ days/week in office); open for candidates willing to relocate to Berlin

About Koppla
At koppla, we're a fun and ambitious team on a mission to help the construction industry build more efficiently. We're already partnering with top construction companies and delivering impressive results for our customers (multi-months speed-ups discovered through koppla).

Our ambitions are
backed by leading VCs (Earlybird, Newion)
and industry angels as we tackle a billion-dollar opportunity problem in an underdigitized and underserved market.

Our culture is core to who we are and we've built one we're genuinely proud of. We are not looking for hypergrowth - we believe in hiring slowly to create an environment of few but very high-performing team members that build a truly great product (similar to Netflix, Ashby or Linear).

What you'll be doing

You'll be the dedicated people leader for our engineers across all seniority levels - actively developing our high-performing, driven team, sharpening how we work, and making sure great people stay and grow.

  • Lead and develop our engineering team. Run regular 1:1s, give direct and actionable feedback and own career development across the full seniority spectrum - from an early junior finding their footing to an aspiring staff engineer. This is the core of the role.
  • Improve delivery, processes, and purposeful AI adoption. Adopt our existing processes, challenge and support the senior engineers in operational excellence, and identify where AI genuinely improves how we work and what we ship (e.g., reducing rework, sharpening code review, accelerating problem-solving).
  • Hands-on-guidance. Maintain enough proximity to the codebase and technical discussions to support junior engineers on code quality and contribute meaningfully to technical discussions with the senior engineers (while not having to be the decision-maker).
  • Eliminate silos. You treat Product and Engineering as a single team, not two functions that coordinate. You bring engineers closer to product and product closer to engineering in how the team plans, decides, and ships, working hand in hand with Product, Design, and UX Research. You ensure context is shared and no critical knowledge sits with just one person.
  • Hiring. You’ll be deeply involved in engineering hiring: You help close current open roles, assess technical talent, and keep raising the bar as the team grows.

Our Tech Stack:

  • Frontend: Typescript, Vue 3, Tailwind, Netlify, GH Actions
  • Backend: Typescript, AWS, NestJS, Prisma, PostgreSQL, REST, Websockets, Terraform, GH Actions

Who we're looking for

You're an experienced hands-on people manager with a strong engineering background and a people first mindset who gets more energy from developing others than from solving things yourself.

  • Prior engineering management experience in a startup. You've managed engineers as an engineering manager (or similar) before, preferably in a Seed/Series A/B or similar environment. You don't need process or hierarchy to get people moving in the right direction.
  • Strong engineering foundation. You were a senior IC before moving into management and can credibly assess technical quality, review code with a critical eye, and contribute in architectural discussions - even if the final call sits with someone else.
  • Builder of strong engineers. Your former reports got promoted, took on broader scope, or grew into roles that better matched their strengths.
  • Proactive and high-energy operator. You bring a naturally organized workstyle and the drive to push a wide range of topics forward at once, from helping a junior write their first solid code to sharpening how your seniors work, without adding bureaucracy.
  • Clear communicator. You are fluent in written and spoken English. You communicate clearly across engineering, product, and leadership teams and create alignment through strong written and verbal communication. You are comfortable having clear, honest, and sometimes difficult conversations when needed.

Beyond the role-specific requirements, you also see your own values reflected in our Culture Playbook.

What we offer

  • A company of co-owners through tax-optimized equity grants.
  • A culture with a focus on transparency, respect, ownership, collaboration and the well-being of each team member on this exciting journey.
  • An environment that values hard-work while still allowing work-life/family integration through 28 days PTO, flexible working hours, workation and a hybrid setup.
  • Dog-friendly office in Berlin with free lunch, besides beverages and snacks as well as a home office budget at start.
  • And more: Annual personal training budget of 1,500€ (FTE), Company supported pension Scheme (”BAV”, 30% contribution), Urban Sports Club Membership, Home Office budget and more.
