Supplier Development and Quality Engineer
Purpose of the role
Ensure supplier product and process quality for machining, welding in line with VAT specifications, standards and customer requirements.

Drive supplier qualification, industrialization, ramp up, risk mitigation and recovery actions to support VAT's growth strategy and stable material availability.

KPI's
▪ Supplier quality performance for assigned suppliers, including QPPM target achievement

▪ Timely supplier and process qualification for relocations and second sources

▪ Effective closure of complaints, audits, corrective actions and escalation recovery activities

Responsibilities
▪ Own supplier qualification and development for machining and welding suppliers globally

▪ Assess supplier capability, process maturity, production capacity and readiness for serial production

▪ Drive supplier development, industrialization and ramp up activities with clear action ownership

▪ Support relocations, second source implementation and qualification projects

▪ Train suppliers in VAT requirements, standards, technologies and process expectations

▪ Lead supplier complaints, root cause analysis and corrective actions using 8D methodology

▪ Review and approve ISIR, PPAP and process qualification documentation

▪ Monitor supplier KPIs, process capability and risk trends; define improvement actions with suppliers and procurement

▪ Plan and perform system and process audits for machining, welding and manufacturing controls

▪ Audit CNC turning, milling, grinding, multi axis machining, TIG, orbital, laser and vacuum soldering processes

▪ Drive closure and effectiveness verification of audit findings

▪ Support supplier related Change Requests, customer escalations and shortage prevention with technical risk assessments

▪ Lead supplier recovery actions, including capability assessments, material risk assessments and top management escalation support

▪ Define and drive actions to secure material availability in close alignment with Engineering, Operations and Strategic Sourcing

Qualifications
▪ Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or similar

▪ 5 to 10+ years of experience in supplier quality, manufacturing engineering or supplier development

▪ Strong quality management, engineering or manufacturing background in machining and welding

▪ Experience in supplier audits, process qualification, ramp up and corrective action management

▪ Practical experience with supplier relocations, second sources or supplier recovery situations

▪ Good understanding of ISO 9001, ISO 3834 and semiconductor customer requirements

▪ Ability to work in international matrix organizations with regular supplier travel

▪ Strong communication, negotiation, project management and stakeholder management skills

▪ High level of resilience, ownership and flexibility

▪ CNC machining technologies including turning, milling, grinding and multi axis machining

▪ Welding technologies including TIG, orbital, laser and vacuum soldering

▪ Technical drawing interpretation, GD&T and specification review

▪ ISIR, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, Control Plans and process validation

▪ Root cause analysis, 8D, 5 Why and corrective action effectiveness verification

▪ Process validation and capability analysis including Cp, Cpk and KPI monitoring

▪ Supplier auditing, process assessments and risk based supplier development

▪ Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 3834 and manufacturing process control

▪ Project management, stakeholder management and escalation handling

▪ Fluent German and English skills (written and spoken)

  • Du leitest die Qualifizierungsaktivitäten in technischen Projekten und verantwortest Qualität, Zeitplan und Budget innerhalb deines Bereichs.
  • Du erstellst, prüfst und genehmigst qualifizierungsrelevante GMP-Dokumente wie URS, QP, DQ, IQ, OQ und Change Requests.

  • Cross-funktionale Projektteams werden von dir fachlich geführt und effizient koordiniert.
  • Enge Zusammenarbeit mit QA, Engineering, Betrieb, Lieferanten und dem Projektmanagement sorgt für reibungslose Abläufe.
  • Du überwachst den Fortschritt der Qualifizierungsaktivitäten und stellst regelmäßige Statusberichte bereit.
  • Die abschließende Übergabe aller Qualifizierungsunterlagen an das Life-Cycle-Qualifizierungsteam liegt in deiner Verantwortung.

Dein Profil

  • Du hast ein abgeschlossenes Studium im Bereich Ingenieurwesen, Naturwissenschaften oder eine vergleichbare Qualifikation.
  • Du verfügst über mehrjährige Erfahrung in der Qualifizierung oder Validierung im GMP-regulierten Umfeld, idealerweise in der Pharmaindustrie.
  • Fundierte Kenntnisse im Bereich GxP, Qualitätssysteme sowie regulatorische Vorgaben (z. B. EU GMP, US FDA) zeichnen dich aus.
  • Leitungserfahrung in Projekten oder interdisziplinären Teams bringst du mit.
  • Eine strukturierte, lösungsorientierte Arbeitsweise und Kommunikationsstärke zählen zu deinen Stärken.
  • Sehr gute Deutsch- und Englischkenntnisse in Wort und Schrift runden dein Profil ab.

Reisetätigkeit

Die Laufzeit unserer Projekte liegt meist zwischen 6 und 24 Monaten. Abhängig von Projekt und Projektphase ist der Einsatzort hauptsächlich der Projektstandort beim Kunden, wobei Mobiles Arbeiten von Zuhause in Absprache mit der Projektleitung teilweise möglich ist. , we are currently looking for a motivated and dedicated
Systems Engineer
for a temporary assignment until the end of 2027, with high probability of extension.

Roche is shaping the future of critical care diagnostics. Blood gas und electrolyte (BGE) analysis is used in critical point-of-care settings where time and quality matter. NPC RundD BGE is responsible for the development of new and improved BGE analysis systems and the life cycle maintenance of existing BGE products. Within NPC RundD, System Development and Integration is where everything comes together: a team of dedicated scientists, engineers, and lab technicians ensures that hardware and software fit together seamlessly with sensor and reagent technologies to form robust and reliable BGE analysis systems.

The company is looking for a new team member in their Systems Engineering group to help ensure the development success of their complex diagnostics systems, consisting of fluidics, software, instruments, biochemical sensors, and reagents. In this role, you will own and manage system-level topics and documentation, mainly in the form of requirements engineering, interface management, conceptual work, and change control management. Furthermore, you will support the alignment and integration of different system components using Model-Based Systems Engineering and champion the use of agentic AI in requirements engineering.

The Perfect Candidate for this role possesses a background in development within a regulated environment, preferably in the IVD(R) sector, and has 3-5 years of practical experience in system definition, requirements engineering, and systems thinking. They should demonstrate a strong grasp of systems engineering methodologies and an understanding of multiple technology domains, including electronics, mechanics, and software. Additionally, the candidate should exhibit a clear and structured working style, proactive collaboration skills, and the ability to maintain both a big-picture perspective and attention to detail.

Tasks und Responsibilities

Core Systems Engineering und Requirements

  • Own Requirements Engineering and Elicitation as well as Requirements Management
  • Drive and coordinate the requirements change control process
  • Contribute to and author development documents, such as: Product/Technical requirements, Traceability analysis (verification), Product risk analysis, and configuration management
  • Collaborate heavily during FMEA and risk analysis/assessments
  • Support system testing during design verification and validation activities

Cross-Functional Integration und Collaboration

  • Facilitate interface management and descriptions
  • Align and coordinate with affected parties across all systems engineering topics
  • Cooperate cross-functionally with HW and SW Engineering, Operations, Customer Support, Clinical Development and Medical Affairs, and Regulatory Affairs
  • Collaborate during the definition, planning, and execution of project tasks and work packages

Innovation: AI und Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)

  • Ideate and develop LLM agents or similar AI use cases for design, system performance, and documentation analysis to improve systems engineering artifacts and processes
  • Drive alignment between component development and integration into one system via interface definitions and MBSE methodologies

Must-Haves

  • Background in development within a regulated environment, ideally in the IVD(R) area
  • Min. 3-5 years of practical experience in system definition, applying requirements engineering skills, acting as a systems thinker, and focusing on the "big picture"
  • Fundamental knowledge of relevant methodologies used in systems engineering
  • Experience with and understanding of multiple technology domains (e.g., Electronics, Mechanics, and SW)
